Spanish Teacher (Part-Time)

Montessori School Of Waukesha is seeking a Spanish teacher for our 5K through 8th grade program. This Spanish Instruction position is currently 23 hours each week and is eligible for full benefits. There is some flexibility on the number of weekly hours.


This may be a just-right opportunity for a retired Spanish teacher, a recent Spanish education graduate, a world languages instructor, a Spanish speaking general educator wishing to focus on teaching Spanish, or someone who is currently a Spanish instructor/adjunct at a local college or university. MSOW is the first school in Wisconsin accredited by the American Montessori Society and will serve about 370 students from toddler level through middle school in the 2025-26 school year.


The 23 hour Spanish position is composed of 5 hours of prep time to create four lessons to deliver 13 hours of common instruction to multiple rooms at the following levels: Middle School (1 room of 7th & 8th), Upper Elementary (3 rooms of 4th - 6th), Lower Elementary (4 rooms of 1st - 3rd) and Kindergarten (2 sections). A classroom Paraprofessional will be available to serve as a dedicated assistant during Spanish instruction periods. During the remaining 5 hours, the Spanish teacher is available to supervise/assist students as needed.


There is a comprehensive curriculum available. The generous preparation time for this position reflects the high quality of instruction expected across all four levels. Generally, the hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10am-3pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 11am - 3pm. The Spanish teacher is encouraged (though not required) to offer After School Enrichment programming from 3:30-4:30pm once a week during our four, 6-week Enrichment Class sessions. Enrichment teachers earn $75 per hour.

Compensation: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and related qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred but not required. Experience as a Spanish teacher and a license to teach Spanish in Wisconsin preferred but not required.
